As the Global Wellness Summit 2019 closed in Singapore, the location for the 2020 event was announced by co-founder, chair and CEO Susie Ellis. The 14th annual Global Wellness Summit will be hosted in Tel Aviv on November 10th-13th, marking the first time that the Summit has been hosted in the Middle East.
The largest city in Israel, coastal Tel Aviv sits on the azure waters of the Mediterranean. A mix of historic and spiritual UNESCO heritage sites and modern skyscrapers and innovation hubs, the city blends together old and new wellness traditions. Nicknamed ‘The Startup Nation’, it’s home to the largest number of startups outside of Silicon Valley, and the Summit 2020 will focus on innovation, technology and entrepreneurial efforts in the wellness industry with a brand new Innovation Pavilion, so delegates can meet the varied health-focused start-ups making waves in the wellness industry.
“We’re thrilled to announce that the Summit will take place in this extraordinary location,” said Ellis, “one with deep spiritual significance and also firm roots in wellness, including its proximity to the Dead Sea, one of the earliest known wellness destinations.”
Nancy Davis, Global Wellness Summit’s chief creative officer and executive director, added, “Set against the backdrop of this city’s ancient history is a thriving start-up culture of innovators and entrepreneurs who are at the epicentre of creating positive disruption through the intersection of healthcare, wellness and technology.”
Welltech1’s co-founder Amir Alroy will play a key role in the Innovation Pavilion. Alroy said, “GWS delegates can expect a curated look at some of the very best wellness start-ups.”
“Israel is home to massive wellness and beauty innovations, and Israeli consumers are consistently among the earliest adopters of cutting-edge wellness-related products and services,” said Israeli-born Ronit Raphael, founder and president of Swiss-based L.RAPHAEL and R.RAPHAEL. “With a population that is expected to double over the next 30 years, Israel will no doubt lead future global wellness trends, making the country a perfect choice for next year’s Summit.”
The Global Wellness Summit is an invitation-only international gathering that brings together leaders and visionaries to positively shape the future of the US$4.5 trillion global wellness economy. Held in a different location each year, Summits have taken place in the US, Switzerland, Turkey, Bali, India, Morocco, Mexico, Austria and Singapore. The 14th annual Summit will take place in Tel Aviv from November 10–13, 2020.
