Luxury Wellness Resort Vana Launches New Wellness Sabbatical Retreat Programme

The most meaningful changes take time, something which wellness retreats recognise with lengthy programmes designed to nurture true transformation. Unfortunately, most of us don’t have the time off to commit to month-long programmes. The wellness sabbatical trend, outlined in the Global Wellness Summit’s 2020 trend report, sees all that changing this year though, and luxury wellness resort Vana has just launched its newest programme in line with this. The ‘wellness sabbatical’ retreat will be tailored to digital nomads or those seeking an extended wellness break while still working remotely.

Available for a minimum of 30 nights, the Wellness Sabbatical incorporates all the elements of a traditional retreat programme—the main difference is the set-aside ‘work time’ in Sketchbook, Vana’s communal office space. The eco-conscious resort is renowned around the world for its effective health programmes which blend Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practices with movement and nutrition, to aid guests with lifestyle issues from stress to weight loss.

In its press release detailing the new programme, Vana said: “Increasingly, going totally ‘off-grid’ for a significant duration is not possible for the majority of society. Crucially, Vana’s Wellness Sabbatical does not mean that ‘time off’ occurs in an isolated place that is cut off from the demands of the everyday. Rather, it incorporates some element of ‘normal life’ into the Sabbatical—calling upon this carefully designed programme to accommodate this delicate balance.”

Vana has a notoriously strict ‘no technology’ rule in its public spaces, with guests told to leave phones and other devices in their rooms, but this new programme won’t affect the digital detox of other guests.

The programme, like others at Vana, begins with an in-depth 60-minute consultation, and each guest’s itinerary will be tailored to them with elements of Ayurveda, TCM, yoga, personalised nutrition and fitness integrated into the programme.

The programme is inclusive of:

  • Accommodation
  • All meals, food and drink, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner
  • Arrival and departure consultations
  • Private treatments and specialist consultations based on one wellness session per night per guest
  • Attire to wear within and outside Vana, footwear, summer and winter accessories
  • Return airport transfers from Dehradun airport
  • Vehicle for local excursions (subject to availability)
