Co-founding Float On Hong Kong and SUP Yoga HK, Dee Cheung has been a key player in developing Hong Kong’s wellness industry. As a teacher of body awareness and yoga for over a decade, Dee wants to help people live pain-free through movement, floating and connecting to themselves. She loves being in the water, cooking colourful meals and spending time outdoors with her furry and human family members. We talk morning routines, and how wellness has changed her family life.
Morning
“I wake up to hugs from my daughter, followed by my mindfulness practice in the shower. I spend five minutes journaling, and eat breakfast with my family before stepping out to meetings or work.”
Family
“My own lifestyle of sleeping well, eating balanced and working out created a space for my then-boyfriend (now husband) to get out of the nightlife industry he was working in. He wanted balance and his health was suffering. Now we run our own wellness centre where we offer float therapy as a solution instead of beer or tequila soda. When it comes to our kid, she eats whole foods when we are home and we make our meals but if we go out, she’s also allowed to have and eat whatever we eat. I think by not depriving her and exposing her first to whole foods, so far she loves everything. That being said, she’s also 20 months old!”

Balance
“Yoga: it has been the one practice through all life’s changes that has kept me on track and balanced. Don’t mess with your sleep. Follow an 80-20 diet. Move your body every day and give back to communities that are important to you.”
Evening
“After my daughter has gone to bed, I’ll put on a beauty counter mask or aromatherapy associates oil mask and complete my five-minute journal reflection and before I hop into bed. My husband and I will turn on one Headspace sleep meditation to help us drift into a deep sleep.”
