11 Wellness Events In Hong Kong For Your September Diary

While the kids are heading back to school, its time for the rest of us to get back into our regular routines—summer break is well and truly over. The weather is still stellar though, and with sunshine abound there’s plenty of wellness events in Hong Kong over the next four weeks to tide you through mooncake season and into a fitness-focused autumn with sustainable plogging gatherings, yoga festivals and mental health seminars to make sure you’re well inside and out.

Sept 1, 8, 15, 22, 29: Sunny Sunday 69Slam Beach Run

For Sundays through September, the Gone Runners Running Club are joining forces with 69 Slam to bring you beach runs every weekend. With different distances to suit every ability, the runs finish on Repulse Bay where you can join your fellow runners for some relaxation on the waterfront. Find out more here.

Sept 7: Mental Health 101 — An Introduction to Mental Health

MindHK invites you to a short workshop to learn the basics of mental health. The perfect precursor to anyone considering taking the Mental Health First Aid certificate course, the seminar covers the stigma surrounding mental health, the spectrum of mental health, self-help treatments, the difference between counsellors, psychologists and psychiatrists, and where to get help in the city. Sept 9: Green Queen UN SDG Vegan Dinner Series: Bedu Vol.3

Bringing attention to the UN Sustainable Developments Goals (SDG) by creating a 100% vegan dining series, Green Queen’s third plant-based sustainable dinner is in collaboration with Bedu. Sept 21: IRIS: Your Escape with ManulifeMOVE

Back for the second time this year, IRIS: Your Escape is Hong Kong’s biggest outdoor wellness and yoga event. With more than 80 classes across six zones, activities include yoga, meditation, gong baths, HIIT, Pilates, martial arts and more from some of Hong Kong’s top fitness instructors. Sept 22: Countryside Clean-Up—Maclehose Trail Section 6/7

Fixing Hong Kong’s trash problem one jog at a time, HK Ploggers are taking to the trails to clean up one of Hong Kong’s best-loved hiking routes. Jogging and picking up trash—known as plogging—along the 11-kilometre section 6 and 7 of the Maclehose Trail is no easy task, but one that is as good for your health as the environment.
