Shangri-La Group has just launched its new wellness club and spa, Yun Wellness, at the newly renovated Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong. The new concept seeks to revitalise the mind and body with its carefully curated collection of Eastern and Western holistic treatments tailored to individual needs. From body treatments and facials to pre- and post-natal care and physiotherapy, here’s what you need to know about the immersive wellbeing hub:
The space
Designed by renowned Spanish architect Lázaro Rosa-Violán, this urban oasis seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces. Bathed in abundant natural light, the space encompasses a communal area, a spa, a 28.5-metre outdoor swimming pool, a cutting-edge gym with state-of-the-art facilities and a hair salon. The spa has 10 treatment rooms, including two designed for couples and two dedicated to health consultations and physiotherapy.

Holistic wellness and daily classes
At the core of Yun Wellness lies an array of comprehensive holistic wellness programmes led by a team of expert practitioners. From one-on-one training to bespoke spa therapies, there’s something for everyone.
To complement the wellness programmes, the urban sanctuary offers a diverse range of daily movement and mindfulness classes, like HIIT sessions, resistance training, Pilates Reformer classes, aerial yoga, singing bowls and meditation.
Spa treatments
Indulgence finds its place at Yun Wellness through a selection of thoughtfully curated spa therapies. For the first time in Asia, Switzerland’s Dr. Burgener medi-spa line is available to provide advanced facials that offer visible results. These facials employ high-performance active ingredients like peptides, amino acids and hyaluronic acid. Benefits include cell regeneration, collagen production and the reduction of wrinkles.

Meanwhile, massages and body treatments are also a highlight here. Signature treatments include the Chakra Balancing Massage and the Regenerating Body Treatment.
Island Shangri-La distinguishes itself as the only hotel in Hong Kong to offer a far-infrared sauna, known for its detoxifying properties, improved circulation and muscle relaxation. The hotel also presents the FDA-approved Exilis Ultra 360 machine which uses radiofrequency heating and ultrasound to stimulate collagen formation.
Mothers and family
Further enhancing the wellness journey, Yun Wellness places a large emphasis on specialised treatments for mothers-to-be and postpartum mothers. Embracing the profound changes experienced during this transformative phase, it fosters a supportive community that brings mothers together.
One remarkable offering is the Postpartum Belly Binding Package, a patented treatment designed in collaboration with Restoring Mums. This restorative therapy utilises traditional Asian techniques and herbs to facilitate body rehabilitation, recovery of bodily functions and alleviating post-partum stress. It also has the bonus of figure restoration too.
Additionally, Yun Wellness presents osteopathic treatments tailored for pregnancy, infants and children.
