Sister hotels COMO Uma Paro and COMO Uma Punakha will host guests on a one-off retreat from 2nd to 9th June 2019. Bhutan’s first film and photography expedition, led by Natural World Safaris and British-American photographer and Kodak Ambassador Michael Turek, will offer the opportunity to get up close with Bhutan’s natural beauty and practice mindfulness through photography. Turek will guide guests on the photography expedition, and show them how to be present in the moment and engage with their surroundings through the lens. Fostering deep connection, awareness and engagement, the expedition will leave guests with intimate photography memories of their time in Bhutan.

The expedition will be split between COMO Uma Bhutan’s two properties—five nights at COMO Uma Paro and two nights at COMO Uma Punakha—and guests will visit the three valleys of Thimphu, Punakha, and Paro, with treks through forest trails and visits to sacred spiritual monasteries included to engage guests body and mind. While staying at COMO Uma Paro, guests can enjoy daily yoga classes, and during the trip indulge in one 60-minute COMO Shambhala body treatment.

With all of your visas, entry fees and government taxes (introduced by the Bhutan government to combat overtourism) covered through this organised itinerary, there’s nothing left for you to worry about except what to pack. This privately guided excursion with an English speaking guide is a must for photography fanatics, avid hikers or nature lovers—and a unique way to visit one of the most unspoiled destinations on earth.

The ‘Eight Day Film & Photography Expedition’ runs from 2nd June to 9th June 2019 and starts from USD 7,600 per person for single accommodation or USD 5,800 per person for twin share accommodation. Book now on Compare Retreats and contact bookings@compareretreats.com.
