Food Programme

Serving up nutritious, wholesome meals, the food at Golden Door reflects the health-driven focus of the rest of the retreat. With a ‘back-to-basics’ approach to eating, the kitchen philosophy revolves around moderation and concentrates on three simple principles: wholefoods, sensible portions, and well-spaced meal times. Designed to give the body a rest from red meat, alcohol, caffeine, sugar and saturated fat, dishes are largely vegetarian, although white meat and fish options are available.

Designed to boost energy and vitality, each meal is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and nutrients. Noteworthy dishes include the green smoothie bowl, the chicken and vegetable moussaka bake, the quinoa tabbouleh, and the ocean trout rice paper rolls. The retreat’s liquid menu is equally appetising and includes hearty soups, cleansing juices, nourishing smoothies, and aromatic herbal teas.
