Ava, the clinically proven female health tracker, launched in Hong Kong in November. Using artificial intelligence technology, the bracelet helps to detect the female hormonal cycle in real-time, so women can better monitor their health and hormonal cycle. Particularly useful for women looking to start a family, the bracelet will let you know your five-day fertility window each month. 

The Global Wellness Summit announced the host for the 2019 event is the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. The 13th annual Summit will be hosted from October 15th to 17th 2019, sharing industry news, data and trends over the three-day event with hundreds of the global wellness community’s experts and leaders. Silver Muse, Silversea Cruises’ ultra-luxury flagship and the newest ship in Silverseas nine-ship fleet, made her maiden voyage to Hong Kong this November. Her inaugural visit to Asia began in Singapore, with stops in Vietnam and Hong Kong. The intimate ship, with a cap of 608 guests, butler service for every guest, and a staff ratio of nearly 1:1, includes 26 different food concepts on board as well as the holistic Zàgara Beauty Spa, fitness coordinator and expansive gym space. Fivelements announced their first urban retreat will open in Causeway Bay Hong Kong in 2019. The first standalone Yoga & Sacred Arts city destination will begin accepting memberships in the spring of 2019, catering to both the corporate clientele in need of a little R&R as well as urban wellness warriors. Food & Beverage

Plant-based protein-alternative Omnipork retail packs are finally available to buy from Green Common in Hong Kong. As the most consumed meat in Asia and the world, the food-tech solution is a blend of pea, soy, shiitake mushroom and rice proteins, and it’s been used by celebrity chefs around the city to make meat-free alternatives to some of Hong Kong’s best-known dishes.

Pret a Manger’s Christmas menu is back for the festive season and will be donating $1 from each item sold from Pret’s Christmas menu to support Feeding Hong Kong, the first Hong Kong food bank dedicated to rescuing surplus food and redistributing it to people in need. The menu includes the Christmas Lunch sandwich, Brie and Cranberry sandwich, Turkey Hot Wrap, Cinnamon Pumpkin soup, Pret’s Christmas Tiffin Bar, Pret’s award-winning handmade Mince Pie, Cranberry Crumble Yoghurt Bowl, and the warming Gingerbread Latte.

Beyond Hong Kong

Award-winning wellness retreat Chiva-Som has reopened after a six-month closure for renovations work. Completing the third of four stages of the resort’s first major renovation since its inauguration 23 years ago, the internationally renowned resort was Asia’s first comprehensive wellness resort when it opened in 1995.
