Wellness travellers across the globe are always seeking new and innovative retreats to try. RAKxa adds itself to the list of new wellness retreats due to open this year and will be Thailand’s first fully-integrated wellness and medical retreat. Compare Retreats shares the inside scoop on what to expect and what we know so far about the hidden oasis…
Situated on Bangkok’s well-preserved Green Lung—an emerald haven located along the Chao Phraya River—RAKxa will offer tailored wellness programmes designed by world-class medical doctors and traditional healing experts. Due to open in December 2020, the resort will be Thailand’s first fully-integrated wellness and medical retreat. Nestled in a protected, jungle-clad island, RAKxa fully integrates advanced medical treatments with holistic therapies, paired with unparalleled Thai hospitality.
The unique concept at RAKxa curates personalised three-to-fourteen day programmes based on cutting-edge technology and is designed to last through until long after you leave. The ten wellness programmes will cover Gut Health, Immunity Booster, Weight Management, Facial Solution and De-Stress retreats.
RAKxa was founded by three major companies, each with extensive expertise in tourism and wellness—M.K. Real Estate Development Plc, Minor Hotels Group and VitalLife Scientific Wellness Centre, a subsidiary company of the renowned Bumrungrad International Hospital. Dusadee Tancharoen, RAKxa’s Managing Director, fills a gap in the Thai market, and says, “This has long been a passion and a dream, to create a wellness escape that goes beyond what people normally associate with Thailand. Beyond the yoga and spa retreats. Having spent many years researching and understanding the market, there was a clear gap for a truly integrative retreat. The goal was to find a sanctuary, somewhere immersed in nature that fully combines alternative and complementary medicine with Western modern science. Today’s world is filled with battles and people need to have their best defences in play. Being truly well protects us from any threats the future may hold“.
