Food Programme

With a focus on wholesome nourishment and balanced nutrition, the food at Gwinganna is mindfully crafted to boost energy, enhance vitality and cultivate health. The retreat embraces a paddock-to-plate philosophy and all produce used in the kitchen is fresh, organic and locally-sourced. Much of the fruit, veggies and herbs are harvested from the retreat’s own organic gardens and orchard, so meals are packed with nature’s goodness. All ingredients focus on low human intervention food (LHI), where food has undergone minimal or no changes from its place in nature to create an ideal balance between macro and micronutrients.

Specifically designed to support and improve digestion and liver detoxification, reduce inflammation, improve gut bacteria and balance blood sugar levels, meals are equally healthy and tasty. Specially curated to meet individual dietary needs, many of the meals are gluten and dairy free and can be adapted to meet special requests. Gwinganna also has a recipe book filled with delicious everyday meals that guests can create at home.

Created to regulate hormones, reduce stress, and counter unhealthy lifestyle habits, each programme offers a theme, from detox to speciality areas such as nutrition, sleep and women’s health.

They also have an innovative positive ageing programme called ‘Optimum Wellbeing 50 Plus’ which teaches guests how to use movement, nutrition, emotional wellbeing and stress management to prevent degenerative disease. Gwinganna’s custom-designed spa sanctuary is exceptional and offers everything from facial and massage therapies to more holistic options such as naturopathy, live blood analysis and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
