August 2, 9, 16, 23: Run Our City Running Coaching Programme
This four-week running programme in Kowloon Bay Sports Ground offers professional coaching and a supportive running community to help runners of all levels improve their running skills, fitness knowledge and endurance. August 3: Grow your own Garden With Garage Greens
This isn’t a one-time, one-day event, but a three-month programme that promotes urban farming in Hong Kong’s densely populated city spaces. Garage Greens has a fourth-floor, 2000-square-foot roof garden in Wan Chai where members are invited to tend their own vegetables. The programme features twice-monthly workshops with expert farmers from Rooftop Republic, along with community classes in cooking and seminars on sustainability. The programme runs until October 31 and culminates in a farmer’s market where participants can sell their vegetables if they choose. August 4: Maximal Concepts Counterbalance Wellness Workshops
Maximal Concepts, the F&B brand responsible for dining establishments like Mott 32 and Brickhouse, introduce the second in their wellness workshops series. Hosted at Flex Studio Central, this event offers an alternative to the traditionally indulgent Hong Kong brunch with a one-hour Yin-Yang yoga session led by Victor Chau and a seasonal brunch at the new Mercedes Me. August 10: New Moon Sound Meditation Class
The New Moon has always had significance in spiritual practices and represents a time to reset intentions. Enjoy a 60-minute sound healing meditation with gongs and singing bowls, which use vibrations to help alleviate tension in the body and mind. August 10: Soul Yoga Flow at Flex
At Flex Studio’s new Central location, change up your Friday night with a sunset yoga session the Flex rooftop terrace to a Rhythm and Blues Gruv Music playlist with Rebecca Jean Wong, followed by snacks, drinks and refreshing cocktails from Vita CoCo and MJS Foods. Part of Pure Yoga’s #YogaForAll series, the annual Pure Playground is an afternoon of fitness fun at Central Harbourfront Event Space. August 14-16: Yoga Master Class with Marysia Do
The Midweek Magic series features three events at Pure Yoga Hutchinson House with Marysia Do. The three 90-minute classes—High Flying Flow, to improve your handstands; Hip Opening and Arm Balancing; and Liquid Spine, to improve backbends—can be done on their own or as a series, for students to improve their practice or for teachers who want to deepen their knowledge.
