After building its reputation in a single Manhattan tower, the performance-luxury brand has opened its second property, and its first beyond American soil, on the shores of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.

Equinox Resort Amaala is a 128-key resort spread across six accommodation categories, including two penthouse suites, and complemented by twenty-one branded residences for those inclined to put down roots. The architecture comes from Foster + Partners, with interiors handled by Rockwell Group, a pairing that lends the property both structural ambition and warmth. The result draws visibly from its surroundings, borrowing the tones and textures of the coastline, the marine environment, and the mountains that frame the bay.

Every guest room has been conceived as what the brand positions as a twenty-four-hour environment for recovery. Circadian lighting calibrates itself to the body’s internal clock, acoustic isolation dampens the outside world to a hush, and temperature-responsive bedding and metal-free mattresses are engineered to adapt to the sleeper rather than the other way around. The Location
The resort sits within Triple Bay, positioned by its developers as the wellness core of the broader Amaala destination, itself part of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Natural Reserve on Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast. Triple Bay is the first phase of Amaala to open, and Equinox occupies its most prominent position, anchoring the Marina Village directly adjacent to the Amaala Yacht Club and Hijaz Cove. The setting places the resort between the Red Sea and the Hijaz Mountains, a juxtaposition of coral reef and desert cliff that the brand leans on heavily in its own storytelling.
Red Sea International Airport serves as the primary gateway, roughly two hours from the resort, though travellers can also route through AlUla, Tabuk, or Al Wajh, with private luxury transfers arranged from any of the three.

Dining at Equinox Resort Amaala is spread across five distinct venues, each built around a philosophy the brand describes as fuel as art. Soho Souk operates as the all-day social anchor, drawing on Levant-inspired flavours with a wood-fired hearth turning out Josper-grilled meats and artisanal flatbreads by day, shifting into mezze, seafood, and functional cocktails by night. Sama Ai serves as the resort’s fine-dining signature, pairing Japanese precision with Middle Eastern flavour beneath sculptural lighting and panoramic Red Sea views, with a temaki bar and a dedicated mocktail and matcha counter adding points of interest.
Mint + Co functions as the resort’s café and wellness atelier, built for superfood-infused coffees, artisanal snacks, and curated teas consumed at a slower pace. The rooftop EQX Magnesium Pool, set beneath an open-air oculus, pairs mineral-rich waters with its own bar and café serving longevity-focused light bites, while EQX Den, tucked within the spa grotto, offers a candlelit evening space for adaptogen-infused mocktails and quieter conversation. Twenty-four-hour in-room dining draws from the resort’s principal kitchens, and walk-ins are welcomed across every venue.
How Does It Fit Into Amaala’s Bigger Picture?
Within Triple Bay, Equinox shares the promenade with several other resort brands as the destination’s first phase matures. Rosewood Amaala opened in August 2026 with 110 rooms and suites, and a Four Seasons resort and residences, along with a Six Senses property, are expected to follow as later phases come online. Once complete, Amaala is projected to comprise more than 1,600 hotel rooms across nine resorts, along with branded residences, a marina, and an extensive retail and dining promenade.
