Amangiri Launches New Camp Sarika For An Ultraluxe Wilderness Escape

Amangiri knows all about celebrating in style. As its 10th anniversary rolls around, the luxury resort in Utah’s striking desert landscape gets ready to launch a brand new wellness travel experience: Camp Sarika. Comprised of 10 tented pavilions, each with its own private plunge pool, Camp Sarika will sit amidst 600 acres of desert wilderness to give guests the ultimate nature immersion.

Forget all your preconceived notions of ‘glamping’: Aman are taking deep wilderness immersions to the next level with an ultraluxe encampment in the middle of Utah’s crimson canyon rockscape. Whether guests are seeking escapism or solitude, Camp Sarika—slated to open in April 2020—will provide an up-close-and-personal encounter with nature that takes guests away from technology and modern distractions and immerses them in deep, unapologetic nature; from the comfort of a luxury tented pavilion, of course.

Including all the hallmarks of the Amangiri experience, Camp Sarika boasts two spa suites for signature Aman Spa therapies, a Selldorf Architects-designed reception pavilion and restaurant, and a central pool and a Jacuzzi. Located just a five-minute drive or 30-minute hike from Amangiri, Camp Sarika will provide a feeling of total isolation, privacy, and adventure.

Channelling the clean lines and minimalist design of Amangiri, each tented pavilion, designed by Luxury Frontier, features one or two bedrooms, a living and dining area, an oversized private terrace complete with fire pit and plunge pool, and a wet and dry bar. Making use of natural materials like canvas, wood and polished stone, the luxurious tented pavilions help guests seamlessly immerse in their surroundings. With only 10 pavilions, a feeling of exclusivity pervades the camp, making it ideal for large groups or private celebrations.

The Camp restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner along with snacks and afternoon tea throughout the day, providing guests with a daily-changing menu of fresh local ingredients. While one of the main features of the open kitchen will be the rotisserie grill, the menu will also cater to vegetarians and vegans with a wide range of plant-based dishes. Open exclusively to Camp Sarika guests throughout the day, the restaurant will also welcome guests from Amangiri for advance-booking dinner seatings.

Encouraging guests to reconnect with themselves and nature, the peace and quiet of Camp Sarika—which is Sanskrit for ‘open space’ or ‘sky’—is perfect for those looking to unwind or detox digitally from their every-day stressors.

The Camp is surrounded by five national parks, offering plenty of hiking and canyoneering opportunities for those who are looking for adventure, and the nearby Navajo Nation Reservation camp provides a platform for guests to learn about Native American culture and traditions. Other wellness activities include outdoor yoga, guided meditation, horseback riding, star-gazing, and cultural storytellings with a campfire each evening after the sun goes down.
