Luxury wellness hotelier Aman has been announcing online wellness initiatives since the start of the pandemic to encourage home wellbeing. One of its recent ventures is from Indonesian retreat Amanjiwo (set to re-open on June 1st). The resort has compiled a herbal afternoon tea recipe to refresh and rejuvenate in your own household—a fragrant recipe using warm spices and citrus flavours to create a natural calming effect for the body. 

Recipe: Herbal Tea

Antioxidant-Rich | Anti-Inflammatory | Vegetarian

Serves 2

Ingredients:

•  5cm cinnamon
•  5 cloves
•  5 star anis
•  1⁄2 cm nutmeg
•  6 lemon basil leaves
•  1 slice lime
• 3 slices ginger
•  1 lemongrass
 • 250ml water
•  Honey (to taste)

Equipment:

• 1 x Pestle & Mortar
• 1 x Measuring cup
• 2 x Teacups
• 1 x Teapot
• 1 x Kettle

Process:

  1. Pound together all the herbs using a pestle and mortar.
  2. Add boiling water and honey to taste.
  3. Serve hot.
