In Bali’s spiritual heartland, nestled among lush rice terraces and tropical flora, lies a hippie haven waiting to be discovered. One World Retreat Kumara, an eco-friendly retreat, offers one-of-a-kind immersive holistic packages and wellness experiences that create transformations far beyond the end of the retreat. We explore what makes their yoga and detox programmes so unique.

Location

Bordered by a small creek and ensconced by jungle, One World is located less than two kilometres from the heart of Ubud. Peaceful and serene, the retreat is surrounded by rice fields and blends into its natural environment.

Accommodation

Spanning 14 spacious rooms, each with a private terrace that overlooks the retreat’s lush gardens and rice fields beyond, One World’s lodgings are quite simple yet pleasant. Outfitted in modern décor with traditional Indonesian touches, each room is airy and is outfitted with all the basic amenities one would expect (although wifi is only available in the communal dining area). The retreat also has two swimming pools and an open-air yoga pavilion that spans 1345 square feet.

Food Programme

Featuring a range of Indonesian and international dishes along with an array of fresh juices and nutritious smoothies, One World’s dining menu offers lots of healthy options. Vegetarian and vegan meals are available, and special dietary requirements are catered to. Ingredients are mostly organic, and pork and beef are not served.

Treatment Programme

Led by a team of experienced local teachers, One World offers a range of soul-enriching signature programmes which fall under five categories: ‘Escape the World’; ‘Follow your Dreams’; ‘Immerse Yourself in Bali’; ‘Ayurveda Detox & Yoga’; and ‘Yoga on & off the Mat’. Each retreat is six days and five nights, and offers holistic activities that match the theme. For example, the ‘Immerse Yourself in Bali’ retreat offers activities such as Balinese cooking classes and Balinese purification rituals, while the ‘Ayurveda Detox & Yoga’ retreat focuses on Ayurvedic cleansing and Ayurvedic lifestyle guidance.

The journeys can be booked as an additional experience and fall under three categories: ‘Ubud Spa Vacation’; ‘Discovering North Bali’; and ‘Munduk Excursion’.

The retreat has a dedicated spa, which has an assortment of exotic treatments including Ayurvedic massage, green tea bath soaks and Lulur scrubs, along with beauty treatments such as thermal clay facials and moisturising scalp tonics.
