Back for a sixth year, Hong Kong’s one and only health and wellness festival IRIS: Your Escape is keeping us busy this weekend. The two-day event is packed with an incredible lineup of Hong Kong’s leading health and wellness professionals, including Victor Chau, Cristina Lopez McLauchlan and Rosemary Vanderbrook.
With over 60 different classes, activities and workshops across the eight zones ranging from straight-up yoga to crystal healing, there’s almost too much choice – so here are our 10 top picks of what not to miss this weekend at IRIS Festival Hong Kong.
Donovan Ryan (Saturday, 12.40-13.40, Fit District)
The CEO, founder and chief instructor of Hong Kong Self Defence is leading a session on how defend against knife attacks using martial arts. With a black belt in Taekwondo and Karate, as well as experience in MMA, BJJ, Hapkido, bowing and kickboxing, you’ll find this fun session packed with real-life skills.
Corie Chu (Saturday, 13.50-14.50, Silent Disco)
The PR consultant turned numerology teacher is also a 9th generation Reiki Master and person development coach. Join Corie Chu’s session to deeper explore who you are, and new avenues to overcoming future challenges.
Victor Chau (Saturday, 14.50-15.50, Main Stage)
The IRIS veteran, Lululemon ambassador, and one of Hong Kong’s top yogis Victor Chau is leading a Vinyasa yoga session designed to open your heart with backbends, individual and partner poses.
Jill Marshall (Saturday, 17.20-18.20, Silent Disco)
Anatomy and physiology expert Jill Marshall is leading a Contrology class which blends Pilates and dance for an invigorating, strengthening and fun session. Pilates is incredible for strengthening the core, which will improve your yoga practice and athletic performance.
Trybe (Saturday, 18.30-19.30, Fit District)
Hong Kong’s largest acrobatics and movement centre Trybe is bringing their handstands from Wong Chuk Hang to Kowloon with a Ninja Flow ground acrobatics and movement class.

The founders of SUP Yoga Hong Kong will be taking a fluid flow yoga session that will give you a taste of the waves – without the risk of getting wet, of course.

If you’re not good with trust falls, this might not be the class for you… build your own strength and your coordination skills through individual and parter work, as Acroyoga Hong Kong help you to take flight. It’s a fun session, and the perfect way to end a wellness -filled weekend.
