What To Do At The Conscious Festival Hong Kong 2019

The Conscious Festival returns for a second year to Hong Kong, bringing with it a range of talks, workshops and a sustainable marketplace. The festival, organised by Green is The New Black and hosted this year April 13-14 at the Kerry Hotel, aims to open up conversations on sustainability and share knowledge on how to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Check out what to expect from the Conscious Festival this weekend, and how to get 10% off your talks tickets.

Inspiring Talks

The Conscious Festival’s lineup is centred around talks and discussions, focused on four themes: Live, Work, Consume, and Travel. With more than 60 speakers, each session debates and discusses the best ways to live more consciously in all areas of life. Some highlight speakers include David Yeung of Green Monday, Chef Tom Burney of Invisible Kitchen, and the youngest speaker, Lucia Torresi, who at just nine years old will speak up about youth campaigns tackling climate change.

On the topic of wellness travel, Nikki Pang of Lightfoot Travel and Amanda Ho from Regenerative Resorts will explore the ins-and-outs of eco-travel, while Paul Niel will examine how we can combine our desire to explore with travel that not only has little environmental impact, but a positive one too. Each talks sessions will begin with a ‘wellness opener’ to set the tone for the coming discussion.

A Mindful Marketplace

The fully-vegan marketplace is open to the public, and features more than 80 mindful brands and 20 educational booths to entertain and inform. A mix of local and international brands, don’t miss out on the healthy vegan treats, live music and interactive art workshops to inspire you towards a more conscious lifestyle.

Wellness Workshops

Conscious living starts on the inside, so The Conscious Festival has organised live wellness sessions from meditation to HIIT sessions. Join Reebok Brand Ambassador and FitSphere founder Liv Lo, for unique HIIT yoga sessions, or ChauKei Ngai and Fitbit for a morning yoga flow session. The private chartered boat from Central Pier 9 to the Kerry Hotel in Hung Hom will feature wellness sessions with meditation sessions from Clinical Hypnotherapist Beatrice Lee and sound and breathwork teacher Seema Bhatia, in addition to breathwork sessions with Thomas Amiard at the festival itself. For something a little different, get your skates on with Hong Kong Roller Derby and Madame Quad, who will be offering rollerskating sessions throughout the weekend.

Environmental Events

Over the weekend, Lush will host a series of workshops based around their ‘naked’, eco-friendly products to help inspire you to live a little more green. Check out Ocean In Motion, an evening of film screenings on sustainability and ocean conservation. Tickets included complimentary wine from La Cabane and beer from The Artist

Conscious Eating

The vegan marketplace isn’t the only place to shape up your eating habits. Biorna Quantics sustainable life workshop goes beyond the basics of eco-conscious living to explore how you can make your lifestyle healthier for you and the planet with DNA testing and unique nutrition and gym plans bio-tailored to you. If you’re a coffee drinker, the sustainable coffee tasting is one for you: Encompass HK lead an interactive workshop about coffee supply chain and some of the issues in making it sustainable—and how to consume your coffee more consciously.
